Information We Collect
MemoryDrop collects information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, and profile photo when you create an account. We also collect the content you upload, including photos, videos, voice recordings, and messages shared within albums and time capsules.
In addition, we automatically collect certain technical information when you use MemoryDrop, including your IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, and usage data such as pages visited and features used. This helps us improve performance and security.
How We Use Information
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve MemoryDrop services. This includes creating and managing your albums, enabling sharing with invited members, sending notifications about album activity and time capsule events, and ensuring the security of your account.
We may also use your information to respond to support requests, send service-related announcements, and analyze usage trends to develop new features. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
User Content
Photos, videos, voice recordings, and other materials you upload to MemoryDrop remain your property. By uploading content, you grant MemoryDrop a limited license to store, display, and transmit that content solely for the purpose of operating the service and enabling sharing with the members you invite.
You are responsible for the content you upload and share. Do not upload content that violates the rights of others, including copyright, privacy, or publicity rights.
Time Capsule Privacy
Time capsules are designed to keep memories private until a future unlock date. Until that date arrives, capsule content is encrypted and accessible only to the creator and invited contributors with appropriate permissions.
When a time capsule unlocks, all invited members are notified and granted access according to the sharing settings chosen at creation. You can modify contributor access before the unlock date.
Data Storage
MemoryDrop uses secure cloud infrastructure to store your data. All content is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption methods. Backups are maintained for reliability and are subject to the same security standards.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete content or your account, we will remove the data from active systems within a reasonable time, though residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period.
Sharing Information
MemoryDrop is built around sharing memories with the people you choose. When you invite someone to an album or time capsule, they can see the content you share within that album. You control who is invited and what they can access.
We do not share your personal information with outside parties except when required by law, to protect our rights, or with service providers who assist in operating MemoryDrop under strict confidentiality agreements.
Account Deletion
You may delete your MemoryDrop account at any time from your profile settings. Account deletion will remove your personal information, uploaded content, albums, and time capsules from active systems.
Please note that content you contributed to shared albums may remain visible to other members unless removed prior to deletion. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period as required for legal or technical reasons.
Children's Privacy
MemoryDrop is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.
Changes to Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the application. The updated policy will include a new effective date.
Continued use of MemoryDrop after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
